Life Compensation Plan

by Chris Brady

When the LIFE company was established, one of the primary goals of its founders was to accomplish something in the area of compensation that hadn’t been done before. The heart behind this was to offer financial rewards that would truly be based upon performance.  But there was more.  It was also desired to put a heavy emphasis on revenue sharing with the field – this is “corporate speak” for not letting the company keep most of the profits.  While many (but certainly not all!) pay plans appear to be at least somewhat fair in terms of how the money is split amongst participants in the field, what often is NOT fair is how much money finds it way back to the corporation. The result is a subtle but real conflict of interest between the company and its field operators.  Therefore, right off the bat, LIFE designed its financial plan in such a way that most of its profits flow to the people who are actually doing the work to make the revenue happen in the first place. Right out of the gate, the percentage of gross revenue paid back to the field in commissions was structured to be in the (estimated) 65+% range.  This, as far as we know, is an industry high. Then, after just two months in business, LIFE announced its One Time Cash Award program, which put even more money into the field. It is still too soon to know the exact figures (as some of the qualification periods for these rewards don’t end until the end of 2012), but we believe this will put the percentage at something approaching 70%.

How can this be done? How can a group of founders establish a company on such lean terms? The answer comes from the strong belief that the best leadership for this type of company can be provided by those who are actually doing what they are teaching and expecting others to do.  THIS, as far as we know, has never been done before: corporate founders who deliberately establish the financial incentives in such a way as to keep themselves in the game, out in the trenches, and thereby providing the means by which most of the profits flow to the field.

And now there’s more.  On April 27th, at the Spring Leadership Convention in Columbus, Ohio, LIFE will announce  an additional incentive program representing even more new money being put into the compensation program. This will be a reward package that will be attractive to new participants and attainable early in their experience with the business – in other words, something they can qualify for in the near-term, not “someday.”

All of this, in the LIFE compensation plan, is in addition to LIFE’s groundbreaking position between the four industries of Personal Development, Home-based Businesses, Life coaching, and Community building, and takes advantage of LIFE’s high-value position in the market of personal development materials, wherein its products are among the lowest priced in the marketplace (in some cases hundreds of percent cheaper than its competition).  And, don’t forget, all of LIFE’s products are backed with a 30 day money back guarantee.

When LIFE founder Orrin Woodward says, “We don’t promise easy, but we do promise worth it!” the LIFE founders have done their best to structure a compensation plan and reward system that shows his statement to be much more than mere rhetoric.

I hope this helps!

Sincerely,

Chris Brady

It is amazing today to see all of the ways we will challenge ourselves physically. We will work too many hours, play recreational sports leagues, sign up for a 5K race or start the latest diet and exercise craze, but what about our mental fitness?

All you have to do is log on to the internet and you will read about a 90 day challenge to better health or 90 days to whip you body back into shape! After Jan. 1 of every year health club parking lots are full (at least until Feb.! :) )

Why is it that we find so many ways to take care of our physical fitness but ignore our mental fitness? Don’t get me wrong a leader wants to take care of the body he has been given. It’s hard to serve the people you have been blessed to lead if you are sick all of the time or pass away from bad health before you fulfill you purpose in LIFE.

“A man too busy to take care of his health is like a mechanic too busy to take care of his tools.”

Spanish Proverb

Here is the other problem, we always want the easiest way to get back in shape! Everyone is looking for the quick no pain fix for their physical fitness! The truth is closer to the old saying, “no pain, no gain!”

I was blessed to spend some time in Florida this winter with leadership expert Orrin Woodward. He is one of the few individuals I know who truly pursues both physical and mental fitness, and actively pursues them daily. While down there we hit the gym every couple of days and pushed our bodies to the max.

We would select a muscle group each time and challenge them with weights and repetition until the muscle actually began to fail. We pushed them past their normal comfort zone and forced them to grow. Then after the gym we would find a place on Orrin’s property and challenge ourselves mentally. We would pick up challenging books and have discussions about numerous topics and think through new ideas, pushing our minds past their comfortable limits. So many people never challenge themselves because of the pain associated with growth, both mentally and physically. When we left the gym every time my muscles were exhausted, the next 2 days I was in pain, but I felt great! I knew that by enduring the short term pain, I would have long term results.

Your mental fitness is the same.  There will be short term pain but long term rewards. So many people skip this pain to make life easier when in reality life will only get harder.

Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard, solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing pains some people more than having to think.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

You see, we are not just body, but body, soul and mind. We need to exercise, feed and challenge ourselves daily in all 3 areas.

“Man’s mind is not a container to be filled but rather a fire to be kindled.”

- Dorothea Brande

What have you done today to challenge yourself mentally or physically? Begin to exercise daily and become physically fit, and take a person mental fitness challenge and read, think and grow everyday.

Here are 3 ways the-life-business helps you build your mental fitness:

  1. Read – The LIFE business sends out hand pick books from some of the top life coaches in the world for you to read and apply in your life.

Thanksgiving

(Lizelia Augusta Jenkins Moorer)

Let us give thanks to God above,
Thanks for expressions of His love,
Seen in the book of nature, grand
Taught by His love on every hand.

Let us be thankful in our hearts,
Thankful for all the truth imparts,
For the religion of our Lord,
All that is taught us in His word.

Let us be thankful for a land,
That will for such religion stand;
One that protects it by the law,
One that before it stands in awe.

Thankful for all things let us be,
Though there be woes and misery;
Lessons they bring us for our good-
Later ’twill all be understood.

Thankful for peace o’er land and sea,
Thankful for signs of liberty,
Thankful for homes, for life and health,
Pleasure and plenty, fame and wealth.

Thankful for friends and loved ones, too,
Thankful for all things, good and true,
Thankful for harvest in the fall,
Thankful to Him who gave it all.

What should I look for when considering starting a business? Orrin Woodward shares his perspective.

When you live in a world where 95% of the people make a living by having a job or running a self-employed business, many do not know what to look for when starting their own business. It was eight years ago when I first started considering launching as an entrepreneur. My first thought was to follow the herd and start a traditional auto repair shop, until I checked the cost, at least $500k just to open doors! Then I looked at the quality of life that business could provide and lets just say the long hours, low return and headaches were not much of an upside! :)

LIFE successOrrin Woodward and the LIFE founders are ready to rewrite the rules of networking. We want to provide the best opportunity to improve your life and live your dreams. The downside risk is a better you for the lowest cost in the life coaching/leadership development market. The upside…..freedom, in all areas of life, the LIFE you have always wanted!

When I worked at Delphi division of GM, I completed half the classes for a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. Although I received good grades and enjoyed the classes, I stopped pursuing my MBA in order to build my own business.

Many thought I was crazy to quit by MBA, but I just had a feeling that it was time for me to build my own business rather than continue to learn about business. In truth, I was ready to implement some of the principles that I had learned along with continuing my education in “the school of hard knocks”. :)

One of the best principles that I learned through my MBA program was to study business by asking two questions when studying any business:

1. What is the downside risk?
2. What is the upside reward?

I was recently reviewing some old articles leadership expert Orrin Woodward had in his blog archive. I began to read the top 10 habits and realized these are the very habits I have learned from the LIFE business and strive to apply everyday. By applying the 10 habits it has literally transformed my life in all areas.

I stopped into my old place of employment a week or so ago and talked with a few of my old co-works, it was like time stood still since I left over 4 years ago. You see when you chose not to  apply the 10 laws they actually act against you, leaving you stuck in your current situation or worse going backwards everyday. Just about everyone there was still having the same struggles in life, just now at an older age. My wife Lisa and I have decided to get better everyday, make this life count and become our best. I encourage you to review the 10 habits and make them apart of who you are, your best is waiting!

God bless, Dan Hawkins

Orrin Woodward’s top 10 habits

Many people are born leaders, yet the ability to lead is actually an art and an amazing collection of skills which can be learned and sharpened. The following top ten daily habits will help you and/or your clients grow as a leader personally, professionally, and spiritually.

The Thinker picture

1. Spend 30 minutes each morning looking for “cracks” in the major
areas of your life.

Your depth of character is key to
determining your success as a leader. It is easy for us to say that we are “in
integrity,” but your actions are the real indicators of strength of character.

Spend 30 minutes each morning looking at the major areas of your life: career, marriage, family, community, and spirituality. Write down any instances where you see “cracks” (you have cut corners, something is inconsistent, you have not kept your word, you have been dishonest, etc.) Do all in your power to repair those cracks by apologizing and dealing with the consequences of your actions. After facing up to past actions, begin a plan that will rebuild you and prevent you from making further mistakes.

2. Show up and be ten minutes early for every appointment.

Great leaders show up for every appointment, and they are always on time. Each day, practice not only showing up but being ten minutes early for each and every appointment. “The early bird gets the worm” has never been so true than when it applies to becoming a great leader that others want to follow.

3. Be dedicated to a high level of learning.

Great leaders are highly competent, because they are dedicated to a high level of learning, growth, and improvement. Spend 15-30 minutes each day devoted to learning something new. Do not settle for knowing “how” to do something. Dig deeper by asking the question “why” and then, go find the answer. Search the internet, interview an expert, or take a day trip to find the answer to a question that is on your mind or the minds of those who follow you.

4. Be simple and crystal clear in all communication.

As a leader, your communication should be simple, clean, and clear as a bell. Examine both written and verbal communication for simplicity and clarity. Use as few words as possible, and eliminate jargon and “big words” from your vocabulary. Express yourself in a way that your listeners can understand.

5. Surround yourself with great people.

One of the secrets of a great leader is great people. Hire the right staff, surround yourself with a strong inner circle, and spend time daily with people who have a variety of gifts. With the support of a strong circle of men, women and children, you will be ready for anything that comes your way.

6. Develop a sense of commitment and responsibility.

People do not follow leaders who are not committed and responsible. Commitment and responsibility can be measured by the hours you spend and how you spend them, the money you spend and how you spend it, and by what you do for others. Spend 15 minutes each day analyzing your time, your checkbook, and your volunteer work. Look closely at how much time you spend with family and friends as compared to work, how you spend your money, and how you give back to the community. You may be very surprised at what you find.

7. Develop a positive attitude by altering your mind.

It is very possible to alter your attitude by altering your mind. Saturate yourself daily with motivational literature, positive people, and inspiring music/art. By conditioning your mind to be more positive on a daily basis, you will find that winning will be a daily reward of your life.

8. Accept responsibility.

Great leaders never play the role of a victim. They recognize that part of being a great leader is being ultimately responsible for all successes and failures. On a daily basis, analyze your current projects, and ask yourself “Have I done all that needs to be done? What have I not done that I should?” Once you have analyzed each project, if you find a weakness, go the extra mile by working extra hours, hiring an outside expert, or getting really creative to repair the weakness or to turn it into a success!

9. Make self-discipline a part of your lifestyle.

What do you need to develop self-discipline? Following a better diet or exercise routine? Getting up one hour earlier? Being rigorous with your spending? Learning something new every day? Eliminate excuse-making from your life, and begin to develop habits that will invite self-discipline to become the foundation of your life. Hire a coach to support you during the development of a routine of self-discipline, and remove rewards until the job is done!

10. Develop courage by facing fear.

By a show of courage, you will inspire others to follow and to walk in your footsteps. Spend 15-30 minutes each day doing something simply for the sake of developing courage: speak to an audience, make a difficult phone call, learn a new skill, write an article or a top ten, or visit someone you have always wanted to meet. As Eleanor Roosevelt acknowledged: “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

Orrin Woodward – Motivation or Scam?

Is Orrin Woodward’s leadership and training motivating you to become your best?

Orrin Woodward picture

Orrin Woodward

What is your motivation?

What keeps you up at night?

What is it that will push you out of your comfort zone to become your best self?

I remember some of the early Team/LIFE meetings I would attend and hear these kind of statements or questions. My first thought was, give me something tangible, some details, tell me what to do! “Those who know how will always work for those who know why” Henry Ford. Ouch that hurt! It was interesting I was sitting in a meeting trying to learn how to get different results, but expected to hear what I already knew. Those who know and not do, really do not know! Every success book I have picked up has discussed at some point (usually the beginning) how it started with a dream and you will have too as well. This is not some scam to get your hopes up and get you to do something for someone else, my job was good at that. The promise of a bigger raise, more time off, a promotion.

The-life-business.com is real!

Orrin Woodward has gone on a mission to get Americas hopes up again, just like when this great nation was founded. Only he has also created a vehicle you can use to accomplish your dreams! Can you image the amount of courage it took to do what the founders did. This country, our freedom, was started on a hopes and a prayers of a few, and has blessed many for a couple hundred years.   Take time to find your dream, your purpose and go do the work.  Here is a great video from Launching a Leadership Revolution that will help you find your motivation.

What if a community called LIFE/Team began to dream, got peoples hopes up and reestablished this country to its roots. This is real and you can do it, dream big!         God bless, Dan Hawkins

Hey everyone, I thought this article from Leadership expert Orrin Woodward was worth sharing!

Orrin Woodward event picture

Orrin Woodward

Why is it that the greatest leaders of all-time seem to either have rabid fans or rabid critics? The answer is simple: truth polarizes. When a leader leads with his convictions, others, who do not hold the same convictions, will criticize the endeavor. Throughout history, men and women like Mother Theresa, Martin Luther, Sam Walton, Oliver Cromwell, George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln, to name a few, have received mountaintop praise and sewer-based criticisms. In fact, if a person desires to change the world, then he better build a tough skin while maintaining a soft heart, because he will be criticized!

The LIFE/Team community is striving to be our best. We will all fall down, but true leaders get up, dust off and get better. I love that Orrin Woodward addresses concerns and fixes them. He is a leader and leaders only point fingers at themselves and get better. I hope you chose to review the LIFE/Team information for yourself and make a decision to join the LIFE/Team. We are going to 1 million!
